Mens Hair and Scalp Health
As a world-renowned Consultant Trichologist, Eva Proudman FIT IAT is globally recognised for her accurate diagnosis, independent advice, and the exceptional treatment results she consistently achieves. Her singular objective is to provide the very best impartial guidance to support optimal hair loss recovery.
Eva treats men in her clinics ranging from as young as 15 through to 80+. She assesses well-known causes of hair loss such as genetics and hormonal influences, while also evaluating the scalp microbiome, hair care practices, diet, lifestyle, and overall health. Hair loss is complex and often driven by multiple underlying factors, all of which must be addressed to achieve the best possible results.
As part of a consultation Eva will present detailed, high-resolution images of your hair and scalp, allowing you to see them as never before. She will clearly explain her findings and outline the most effective treatment options tailored specifically to you. Hair loss is not a one-size-fits-all condition, despite what many online providers may suggest.
Driven by a passion for results-led treatments and product innovation, Eva operates her own research facility in the UK. She is regularly involved in testing and developing carefully curated, science-backed, and groundbreaking formulations — many of which are multi-award-winning.
TricoActiv+
New TricoActiv+ is a carefully formulated hair and scalp lotion containing a blend of plant-derived ingredients, including rosemary, sandalwood, red clover, hop nettle, and methyl nicotinate. These ingredients are chosen for their well-documented cosmetic and therapeutic properties, which may help support the appearance of thicker, fuller-looking hair and a healthy scalp environment.
Hair and Scalp Health
Men’s hair and scalp health is complex. Scalp irritation, shedding, and thinning are common concerns — but the key question is: what has actually been diagnosed in your case?
Online forums and suppliers often take a broad-brush approach. Without a physical examination, they can only offer generic solutions that may not effectively address your individual needs
Hair Transplant
Hair transplantation is not a treatment for hair loss, nor does it prevent hair loss from progressing. It is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to redistribute existing hair — it does not address the underlying causes of hair loss.
A hair transplant should only be considered when the scalp is healthy and male pattern hair loss has been stabilised and effectively managed through appropriate medical treatment. Evidence of improvement and control is essential before surgery is undertaken.
Importantly, ongoing treatment and management remain necessary after a hair transplant. Without a structured, effective regime to maintain surrounding native hair, further progression of hair loss can compromise the overall result.
A hair transplant is therefore not a first-line solution. It is a cosmetic option that may form part of a wider, medically supervised treatment plan — but it does not, in itself, treat or halt hair loss progression.
Scalp
Inflamed, imbalanced or itchy scalp may be something relatively straightforward, such as dandruff, or more complex conditions like seborrhoeic dermatitis or scalp psoriasis. It is important not to assume that ketoconazole shampoos or steroid lotions are always the optimal solution. More advanced, targeted alternatives are available that not only rebalance the scalp but can also enhance the effectiveness and absorption of specific hair loss treatments.
PRP
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is not a standalone solution. It is an adjunctive therapy that may be appropriate in certain cases. Results are highly individual, and online galleries can create unrealistic expectations. Some patients respond well, while others may see minimal benefit.
DHT
DHT is a recognised factor in male pattern hair loss, but treatment options extend far beyond Propecia or finasteride alone. Emerging research also highlights oxidative stress as an equally significant contributor to hair loss — and this too requires targeted management.
Products to Consider
Ultimately, just because a treatment has worked for someone else does not mean it will work for you. Effective hair restoration begins with accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment planning, and ongoing clinical support.
