After meeting Dr Edward Ball Eva was asked to become part of the Maitland team by offering Hair Consultation services to those who were suffering hair loss conditions where it was unclear if a Transplant was the best option, this service has increased due to the demand and Eva now offers frequent clinics at the Maitland Clinic in Portsmouth and London (Harley Street) that can treat and manage any type of hair or scalp concern. The first step is always accurate diagnosis of the condition followed by informed choices about options to treat, manage, cosmetically cover or surgical interventions, and the choice is always down to the individual patient and their own circumstances and preferences.
Eva specialises in offering a diagnosis and managed action plan for those considering surgery who are under the age of 28, and too young for a hair transplant at this stage. This service ensures that hair loss is slowed or stopped, existing hair is optimised and the scalp is kept balanced and in optimum condition for when transplant surgery becomes an option at the Maitland Clinic . The clinics are held 3 to 4 times per month usually on a Thursday and Friday in Portsmouth and Fridays in London.
All consultations are private and vary from around 40 minutes to an hour depending on the condition, during this time all relevant areas of health, diet, lifestyle, family history, hair care regime will be discussed along with an in depth examination, including the use of a specialist scalp camera to arrive at a diagnosis and treatment plan and referral to GP if necessary. Eva may take small hair samples for microscopic examination, and may also require blood test results to complete her diagnosis. Everything will be fully discussed during the consultation, answering all of your questions, often fact sheets are available for you to take home with you and we are always available to answer any questions that may arise once the consultation has taken place.
